Turbo E36 M3 Cooling System Rebuild

My friend Sean's M3 also needed a little love when it comes to the cooling system. Sean wants to pick the car up and take it home. Our plan was to replace the radiator with a Mishimoto Z3M three core unit and a Spal 16" fan. However we ran into a few quirks. We also replaced the thermostat and thermostat housing. We upgraded the water pump to a Stewart high flow unit to improve performance. We also used some new billet radiator stays and a European radiator cover. To cap things off we threw in a Radium Engineering billet expansion tank.

BMW M3 E36 - Brake Rebuild

As you might recall my friend Sean dropped off his E36 M3 at my house the other day. We spent some time getting his brakes rebuilt which was a pretty significant project. He got them powder coated and they look absolutely amazing.

S14 240SX Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

As we saw in my prior 240SX video, the valve cover gasket is leaking on the 1996 16k mile 240SX that I picked up recently. This is not a big problem and an easy one to DIY fix yourself in the garage. It takes just a little patience and effort. These gaskets tend to fail from age and miles. I also show off my ultrasonic cleaner.

Precision Instruments vs Capri Tools

We test a USA made Precision Instruments 1/4" Drive Wrench against a Taiwanese made Capri Tools 1/4" Drive Wrench in a new segment called Five Minute Tool Reviews or FMTR for short. My goal is to finish a review and test run of the tools within a five minute window, not counting the intro or outro. This week I make a total hash of it and ramble on way too long!

Texas Hill Country Special

We take Dmitry's Garage on the road with my friend Sanjin and explore the Texas Hill Country. My buddy brought along his recently purchased Jeep and I took my F250. This wasn't much of an off-roading adventure, but really more a fun time exploring the county roads of Texas. We had a great AirBNB rental on a ranch.

2007 F250 Speaker Upgrade

The speakers that came with my aging 2007 F250 were terrible. They just felt like absolute trash with the worst sound quality I've had in a car in years. I decided to get some new Pioneers and mate them up to my head unit. This guide should work for 2003 to 2007 F250 Crew Cab trucks, mine is a 6.0L turbo diesel.

Cleanest 240SX S14 Revealed

Today I got a new-to-me 1996 Nissan 240SX from Bring A Trailer. The car has a mere 16K miles indicated and is a largely clean example. I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet. As it sits it is bone stock, 5-lug, 5-speed manual and is an SE trim spec. The leather and everything about it smells and screams 1990s. Amazing experience that is definitely once in a lifetime for someone who was still a kid back in the mid 90s.

Truck's Repaired! SCT LiveWire TS+ & Tow Mirrors

Today I got my truck back from PSP Diesel of Houston, TX. These guys did a full tune up of my truck repairing many broken things and making it (hopefully) more reliable. The shop was very professional and turned the job around quickly. We did everything down to the shocks. Can't say it was cheap and I hope the decision doesn't come back to bite me.

Splitting sites again? Welcome to Dmitry's Garage!

I've decided it's time to split my personal blog, dovidenko.com into two sites. I plan to keep tech and general life blogging to my personal blog while using the new site dmitrysgarage.com for all automotive posts. It's going to take me a little time to build everything out, but I'm very excited to separate out the functions and themes of the sites. This should not impact my youtube channel other than changing some links soon :-)!
