The Rag Company Ultra Safe Sponge
I'm already a fan of their products. Although they're not sponsoring this review, my past purchases have always exceeded expectations. The sponge is incredibly soft, which immediately puts my mind at ease about potential scratches on my Corvette's delicate paint. Its hourglass shape makes it ergonomic and easy to hold, a thoughtful design that prevents slippage during use. After covering the car in shampoo and letting it dwell, the sponge's performance was impressive, offering excellent lubricity and effective cleaning without any worry about scratching.
Final Details Shampoo
The Shampoo from Final Details was kindly sent by our friends there. This product is advertised as compatible with foam guns and lances, and I used it with the MJJC Foam Canon S. The shampoo dissolved easily and produced a nice foam, though it wasn't as thick as some other products I've used. It dwelled well on the car's surface, lifting dirt effectively. However, I found that I needed to use a bit more shampoo than usual to achieve the desired suds. While the shampoo did its job, it felt somewhat generic and didn't particularly stand out in terms of performance.
DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss
After washing the car, I moved on to the DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss, which also serves as a drying aid. This product was a pleasant surprise. It applied easily, and even when spritzed on a partially dried surface, it spread smoothly without streaking. The ceramic gloss not only helped dry the car but also added a layer of protection, leaving a streak-free, glossy finish. While I haven't tested its long-term protective capabilities yet, its ease of use and immediate results were impressive. This might become a staple in my car detailing routine.
Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing
Finally, I tried the Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing. I prefer applying tire dressing with a pad rather than a brush, and this product worked wonderfully with that method. The instructions recommended letting it set for 10-15 minutes, after which I wiped off the excess for a more matte finish. The tire dressing gave my tires a dark, slightly shiny look without being overly slick or wet. This balanced finish is exactly what I prefer, and I was delighted with the results. It provided a clean, professional look to my Corvette's tires, rounding off the detailing session nicely.
Final Thoughts
Overall, today's car detailing session with these new products was quite successful. The Rag Company sponge and DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss were standout performers, while the Final Details shampoo was adequate but unremarkable. The Obsessed Garage Tire Dressing provided a perfect finish to my tires. If you're interested in trying out any of these products, check out the affiliate links above.
